LET FEMININITY BE GIVEN PROMINENCE

A society functions perfectly well with the dynamic balance between the opposites say feminine and masculine principles. This is somewhat like chinese YIN YANG principle. Feminine and masculine are not equal, but different in many respects, including bodily functions, and physical limitations. They are even different in mental attitudes. we can just say that this classification is done by us for convenience sake. Even then we can physically, and sometimes even mentally verify the existence of such an inequality between opposite sexes. But this inequality never means that they are weak in all respects. In certain aspects they are more powerful, and in some their ability cannot be surpassed by that of men (pregnancy) . a well balanced society is the one in which the feminine and masculine principles are well balanced. Many of us think that feminine principle is some thing that we can find only in women and vice versa. Not correct. Every man carries inside him a woman, and every woman a man. When masculinity is prominent, force and power will be sitting in throne. A society built upon masculine principle will be powerful and creative lacking the preservative attitude. It will easily slip into altercations with its neighbors. It can create war. So the feminine principle must be there with equal power to create peace to preserve calmness. The bhudhist principle differentiates masculine and feminine as follows citing their main differences. (gentle-strong : soft – muscular : intuitive –logical analytical : emotional – rational : home maker – home builder : close, warm, motherly - somewhat distant : highly passive –highly active etc. etc. etc ----------- really these classifications were made for convenience sake.) the cited male qualities are prominent in the present society. It is much more aggressive. This is what happens when a society is highly masculine. So our duty is to regain this balance, if possible we can stretch it to the other extreme to make it balanced. Let femininity be given prominence to make our world a better place to live.

പുരുഷത്വത്തിനു പ്രാമുഖ്യം ഉള്ള കാലത്ത് സ്ത്രീ പുരുഷനാകാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതാണ് ഇന്നത്തെ ദുരവസ്ഥ. ഫെമിനിസം എന്നത് സ്ത്രീയെ പുരുഷനാക്കൽ അല്ല എന്നും, സ്ത്രീക്ക് സ്ത്രീയുടെതായ ശക്തിയുണ്ട് എന്ന് കാണിക്കൽ ആണെന്നും ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു. സ്ത്രീയും പുരുഷനായാൽ പിന്നെ സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ സന്തുലിതാവസ്ഥ തെറ്റുക മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളൂ. സ്ത്രീ പുരുഷ ജോലി വിഭജനം പോലും ഉണ്ടാകണം എന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യനാണ് ഞാൻ. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് ഒരു ഗൈനകോളജിസ്റ്റിന്റെ ജോലി പുരുഷനേക്കാൾ നന്നായി ചെയ്യാവുന്നത് സ്ത്രീക്കാണ്. ആ ജോലി പുരുഷൻ കയ്യടക്കുന്നതിനു പകരം, അത് മുഴുവനായും സ്ത്രീക്ക് വിട്ടു കൊടുക്കുകയാണ് വേണ്ടത്. ഒരു മരത്തിൽ കയറാനോ, തോക്കെടുത്ത് ശത്രുക്കളെ നേരിടാനോ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയോട് പറയുന്നത് തികഞ്ഞ ക്രൂരതയാണ് എന്നും ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു. സ്ത്രീക്കും പുരുഷനും ഒരു പോലെ ചെയ്യാവുന്ന ജോലികളും വേണ്ടുവോളം ഉണ്ട്. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് അധ്യാപക ജോലി. പക്ഷെ കുട്ടികളെ പുലര്ത്തുന്ന ജോലി സ്ത്രീയേക്കാൾ നന്നായി പുരുഷന് ചെയ്യാൻ പറ്റില്ല എന്നും ഞാൻ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. അധിക ദൂരം യാത്ര ചെയ്തു ജോലിക്ക് പോകുന്നത് സ്ത്രീയുടെ ശാരീരിക സ്ഥിതിക്ക് യോജിച്ചതല്ല എന്നുള്ള തോന്നലും എനിക്കുണ്ട്. പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും ഗര്ഭ കാലങ്ങളിൽ വളരെ വളരെ യാത്ര ചെയ്തു ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന എത്രയോ സ്ത്രീകളെ എനിക്കറിയാം. വല്ലാത്ത ഒരു പീഡനം തന്നെ ആണ് അത്.

when one consider man and women equal then it means that she had to compete with men in many areas. such a competition with the other gender, make her lagging behind schedule. what she want is not equality but reservation. when an office girl is pregnant we are giving her special considerations. we are giving her extra leave. if we say that she is equal to man and so cannot have additional privileges , then it cannot be considered as justice. we are to be compassionate towards them
