THE PROBLEM OF PRODUCTION - THE UNSOLVED MYSTERY

many of us believe that the problem of production has been solved. Politicians, Industrialists, Economic Journalists, and experts who are well acquainted with the techniques of production, and even laymen who are not acquainted with it share this belief. In western countries they are now talking about 'education for leisure' and in poor countries there is now the talk about 'transfer of technology'. the meaning is evident. through the aid of heavy mechanization, our country can become like western countries and thus we have to study the correct methods to use our leisure creatively. if the system is not working well even then, then the reason is attributed to human wickedness, which can be rectified through a political system in which human wickedness disappears.

all these beliefs rest upon an erroneous concept that the human character has no connection with the mode of production. everyone believe that the human character is fixed. If one becomes good or bad , it depends mainly on his physiology and , to some extend to the circumstances surrounding him. It is when defining the circumstances, which contribute much to the character structure of a man, then we are are coming across the mode of production. It is now well established like eminent philosophers like Karl Marx, that the mode of production is the main contributor to the character structure of man. So if one states that our system is not working properly due to the wickedness of man, who is born well, this wickedness itself is the creation of our mode of production. Man's character is dynamic. it ascends from beast to god. Throughout centuries, it has been the creative use of his hands that made him civilized. It is left to his discretion, whether to put them in chains or not.

SHAKING EARTH - VANISHING BOUNDARIES - MAN'S FOLLIES

the most spectacular incident -spectacular in journalistic terms - on the first week of October 2005 was the violent earthquake that jolted the northern part of india and the southern part of the neighboring country pakistan, creating havoc and panic among the people living in those areas.. the thousands who died during that period, were never a valid reason of our politicians to stop their political gimmicks. The incidence is of special interest, because it happened in and around LOC, obliterating the very concept of boundary itself. The helicopters used for dropping bombs on Iraq population are now diverted to the affected areas for supplying essential food items of the victims. The terrorist groups declared that they would temporarily stop their killing for the time being because their target had been surpassed by nature. Pakistan government declared that they were not interested in joint operation with india to tackle the situation. It will be interesting to note at this point, what the american government will do if such a disaster happens in iraq at present. ask mr. bush. but we can very well guess the answer. the bombing helicopters will be converted into rescuer helicopters. none of the statesmen is bothered about the absurdities underlying such incidences. a lunatic may be saner than them.
